Balaj murder case: JIT declares Gogi Butt guilty

Lahore: The Balaj Tipu murder case has taken a new turn as the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has declared Gogi Butt guilty. According to JIT, Gogi planned to get Amir Balaj killed.

According to media reports, Khawaja Aqeel alias Gogi Butt was in contact with the main accused in the Amir Balaj murder case, Teefi Butt. Gogi has also been named in all previous murder cases of the Tipu family.

It is also reported that the JIT will request the cancellation of Gogi Butt’s bail at the next hearing.

It is pertinent to note that after the murder of Amir Balaj, the accused Khawaja Aqeel alias Gogi Butt had fled. Later, the accused had obtained bail and is on interim bail till September 15, while the accused Teefi Butt is still a declared accused.

Notably, Amir Balaj Tipu was shot dead at a wedding ceremony on February 18, 2024.

According to Lahore Police, Tipu Truckan Wala’s son, Amir Balaj Tipu, was attending the wedding ceremony of former DSP Akbar Iqbal Bala’s son in a private housing society near Thokar Niaz Baig.

During the wedding ceremony, an attacker present there opened fire, injuring three people, including Amir Balaj Tipu, who were shifted to the hospital.

According to police, Amir Balaj Tipu succumbed to his injuries, while the attacker was also killed on the spot by the security guards of the deceased Amir Balaj Tipu.
