The case was heard at the court of the Additional District and Sessions Judge (Central), where the driver, Owais Khan, was convicted of harassing a minor girl. The court sentenced him to 14 years in jail and also imposed a fine of Rs1 million.
In case of non-payment of the fine, the convict will have to serve an additional 3 years in prison.
According to the prosecutor, the accused provided pick-and-drop service to the girl from her school located in North Nazimabad.
The prosecutor stated that the girl informed her parents that the driver was engaging in inappropriate behavior with her. The driver was arrested following a complaint by the parents.
The court noted that the defense lawyer had raised the point that the time and place of the incident were not specified. However, the court remarked that the girl is only 7 years old, and it is very difficult for her to remember such details.
