Boko Haram has displaced millions and killed thousands since 2009


Lagos: At least 63 people have been killed in an attack by the militant group Boko Haram in Nigeria’s northeastern Borno State.
The attack took place during the night between Friday and Saturday in the village of Darajamal in the Bama area, where recently displaced individuals had been resettled.
According to local officials, the dead include around 60 civilians and 5 military personnel. Following the incident, Governor Babagana Zulum visited the affected village and expressed deep sorrow over the tragic event.
The governor added that there aren’t enough military forces to fully secure every area, which is why newly trained "Forest Guards" will be deployed to help protect villages and forests from militant attacks.
Boko Haram has displaced millions and killed thousands since 2009. The group is active not only in Nigeria but also in Chad, Niger, and Cameroon.
