May 9 riots: ATC acquits Qureshi, hands 10-year jail terms to Yasmin, Mehmood
Qureshi was acquitted of all charges, whereas Dr. Yasmin and Ejaz Chaudhry were each handed 10-year prison sentences

Lahore: An anti-terrorism court in Lahore has acquitted PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi in another case related to the May 9 riots, while Dr. Yasmin Rashid and Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed have been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
The court announced its verdict in the case pertaining to the burning of a Supreme Court judge’s escort vehicle on Mall Road during the May 9 unrest.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi was acquitted of all charges, whereas Dr. Yasmin Rashid and Ejaz Chaudhry were each handed 10-year prison sentences.
Additionally, the court sentenced Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed and Omar Sarfraz Cheema to 10 years in prison each, while Khadija Shah received a 5-year sentence.
Meanwhile, Rubina Jameel and Afshan Tariq were acquitted in the same case.
It is worth noting that in a previous case related to arson and vandalism at Sherpao Bridge on May 9, the anti-terrorism court had also acquitted Shah Mahmood Qureshi, while sentencing Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, and others to 10 years in jail.
