Mohsin Naqvi said that war against drugs is a war of our generation


Islamabad: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed on joint operations against narcotics.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National Anti-Narcotics Authority of the United Arab Emirates. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi welcomed the guest upon his arrival at the Ministry of Interior.
In the important meeting, matters of mutual interest, including counter-narcotics, were discussed in detail, and it was agreed to increase cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE in the field of counter-narcotics. In order to increase cooperation in counter-narcotics, DG ANF Major General Abdul Moeed from Pakistan and Brigadier Tahir Gharib from the UAE have been appointed as special representatives.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the establishment of the National Anti-Narcotics Authority in the United Arab Emirates. He also congratulated Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan on becoming the first Chairman of the National Anti-Narcotics Authority. He said that the establishment of the National Anti-Narcotics Authority in the UAE will promote cooperation between the two countries in the field of anti-narcotics.
The Interior Minister assured Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan of all possible cooperation in anti-narcotics, saying that Pakistan is playing a leading role in the war against drugs. Elements associated with the nefarious business are being dealt with an iron fist.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that 400 suspects involved in drug smuggling have been arrested in the UAE, and 5 tons of drugs have been seized. This success has been possible only through joint efforts and the timely exchange of information. There has been an increase in the smuggling of synthetic drugs for some time, and a crackdown is being carried out against the mafia involved.
He added that the war on drugs is a war of our generation, and defeat is not an option in this.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan said that the UAE will also provide all possible cooperation in the fight against drugs. Cooperation in the fight against drugs must be strengthened so that we can provide a better future for future generations.
The Emirati delegation includes Brigadier Tahir Gharib, Director of the Abu Dhabi Department of Counter-Narcotics; Brigadier Omar Khalfan, Director of Operations Department of the Federal Anti-Narcotics; Brigadier Khalid Ali, Director-General of the Dubai General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics; Brigadier Ibrahim Jassim, Director of the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Counter-Narcotics; Brigadier Majid Sultan, Director of the Sharjah Department of Prevention and Anti-Narcotics; and Colonel Mohammed Majid, Director of the Ajman Department of Counter-Narcotics. Col. Khalid Rashid, Director Fujairah Narcotics Control Department, Lt. Col. Jamal Saeed, Umm Al Quwain Narcotics Control Police, Lt. Col. Saeed Mohammed, Director of Abu Dhabi Narcotics Control Department, Major Mohammed Sultan, Narcotics Control Department, and Captain Salem Khamis, Assistant Expert Criminal Evidence, were also present on the occasion.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Federal Secretary for Interior, Special Secretary for Interior, Additional Secretaries for Interior, DG Anti-Narcotics Force, and senior officials were also present on the occasion.
