Meeting will discuss Israeli attack on Sept 9 in Doha and current status of hostage release agreement

Doha: Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani will meet with US President Donald Trump today to discuss the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the release of hostages, including condemning the Israeli attack.
According to a foreign news agency, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani will meet with US President Donald Trump and other senior government figures.
The Qatari Prime Minister is also expected to meet with Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Special Representative Steve Witkoff.
According to the news agency, the meeting between the Qatari Prime Minister and the US President will discuss the Israeli attack on September 9 in Doha and the current status of the hostage release agreement.
It is pertinent to note that the 15 members of the Security Council have unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the attack on Qatar without naming Israel.
Addressing the Security Council meeting, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said that Israel has insulted diplomacy by attacking Doha and that Israel wants to thwart efforts to end the war in Gaza by attacking Hamas leaders.
He assured the Security Council that his country will continue its diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza.
He stated that Qatar's mediation role was appreciated internationally, and he also made it clear that he would continue his humanitarian and diplomatic role without hesitation to stop the bloodshed.
Notably, on September 9, Israel attacked a meeting of Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital of Doha, in which six people were martyred, including the son and aide of senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Haya.
