Major Aziz Bhatti's company launched series of attacks on the enemy


Lahore: The 60th martyrdom anniversary of Major Aziz Bhatti, the hero of the 1965 war, is being observed today. The brave son of the nation created an immortal story of courage and bravery. When the cowardly enemy attacked, he became a wall of lead in its path.
Major Aziz Bhatti, the hero of the September War, was born on August 16, 1928 in Hong Kong. Before the formation of Pakistan, his family returned and settled in the village of Ladian in Gujarat. Major Aziz Bhatti was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the 17th Punjab Regiment.
The Lahore front was also very hot in the 1965 war. When India killed the Pakistanis at night, Major Aziz Bhatti was ordered to stop the enemy's advance in the Barki sector. As a company commander, Major Aziz Bhatti himself was with the forward troops. From September 6 to September 12, Major Aziz Bhatti's company launched a series of attacks on the enemy.
Major Aziz Bhatti, along with his company, not only stopped the enemy for six consecutive days and nights, but also inflicted the worst defeat. This defender of Lahore became a leaden wall in the path of the enemy and did not allow them to take a single step forward.
On September 12, a shell from an enemy tank hit Major Aziz Bhatti on the left shoulder, and he was martyred. In recognition of his unparalleled bravery, Bhatti was awarded the highest military award, the Nishan-e-Haider.
Pakistan Army pays tribute
On the occasion of the 60th death anniversary of Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed, the Pakistan Army paid tribute in splendid words to his immortal sacrifice and extraordinary bravery.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza (Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee), Admiral Naveed Ashraf (Chief of Naval Staff) and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu jointly described the sacrifice of Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed as a shining example of courage, determination, faith, and national loyalty for the nation.
The ISPR statement said that during the 1965 war, Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed courageously defended the Barki sector near Lahore and remained a steel wall against the enemy’s fierce attacks for five consecutive days and nights.
On the other hand, a ceremony was held at the mausoleum of Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Nishan-e-Haider in Gujarat.
The special guest of the ceremony, GOC 17 Division Major General Azhar Yasin, visited the mausoleum of Major Aziz Bhatti, laid flowers, and offered Fateha. On this occasion, prayers were also offered for the high status of the martyr and the progress and prosperity of the country.
