PM suspends collection of power bills from consumers in flood-affected areas
Directs power distribution companies to halt collection of August bills from affected areas

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has suspended the collection of electricity bills for the month of August in flood-affected areas.
A meeting chaired by the Prime Minister was held to review the matter of electricity bills in regions hit by floods.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister directed power distribution companies to halt the collection of August bills from the affected areas.
He added that a final electricity bill relief package for flood victims will be announced once negotiations with the IMF are concluded. For those who have already paid their August bills, the amount will be adjusted in the following month.
The Prime Minister noted that the floods have impacted millions of people across Pakistan, and emphasized that federal and provincial institutions will continue their efforts for the rehabilitation of victims.
He further stated that the government will not rest until flood-affected families are able to return to their homes.
