The floodwaters have also hit the protective embankments in Khairpur

(Web Desk): Due to a high-level flood surge at Sukkur Barrage, the riverine (kacha) areas of Kashmore and Shikarpur have been affected.
The floodwaters from Guddu have now reached Sukkur Barrage, resulting in a high-level flood and severe turbulence in the river. Along with damaging the kacha areas of Kashmore and Shikarpur, the flood has submerged cotton and other crops. The floodwaters have also hit the protective embankments in Khairpur.
In Sukkur, the Sadh Belo temple, located in the middle of the Indus River, has been closed to pilgrims. The temple steps and the platform used for boats have also been submerged.
Moreover, increased water flow at the Mori Loop Bund in Larkana has caused more villages in the kacha area to go underwater, raising the total number of affected villages to 30.
However, the residents of the affected areas have refused to move to safer locations. Meanwhile, in the kacha areas near the Larkana-Sehwan protective embankment, cases of malaria and skin diseases are spreading among the residents.
