A liter of petrol is taxed at Rs94.89 and a liter of diesel at Rs95.35


Islamabad: The details of the tax collected by the government on petroleum products have been revealed.
According to the documents of the Petroleum Division, a liter of petrol is taxed at Rs94.89 and a liter of diesel at Rs95.35. Thus, there is a 36 percent tax on the price of one liter of petrol and a 35 percent tax on the price of one liter of diesel.
The documents state that the price of each liter of petrol includes Rs14.37 as customs duty, Rs78.2 as petroleum levy, and Rs2.50 as climate support levy.
According to the documents of the Petroleum Division, the price of each liter of diesel includes Rs15.84 as customs duty, Rs77.1 as petroleum levy, and Rs2.50 as climate support levy.
