NEOC warns of potential flooding


(Web Desk): Rain is expected over the next 24 hours in the upper areas of the Indus and Kabul Rivers, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) of the NDMA has released details regarding water flow in rivers and potential flood situations in various regions.
At Kotri Barrage, there is currently a medium-level flood with a flow of approximately 400,000 cusecs, and this situation is expected to persist until the end of September.
The flow at Guddu and Sukkur barrages is gradually decreasing, though it remains at normal levels.
At Ganda Singh Wala on the Ravi River, the flow is also declining, while there is a low-level flood at Sulemanki and Islam Barrages.
Due to the current flow in rivers, there is a risk of low-lying areas being submerged in several places.
The NDMA's NEOC is continuously monitoring the situation, and all relevant agencies are being kept informed with necessary instructions regarding potential developments.
The public is advised to avoid traveling to high-risk areas and to refrain from crossing floodwaters.
Those in relief camps should wait for official instructions from relevant authorities before returning to their areas.
