Preliminary investigations suggest the attacker fired at the office from a nearby building

(Web Desk): According to local and federal officials, a shooting incident at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field office in Dallas has resulted in one death and two injuries, with the attacker also committing suicide by shooting himself.
According to news agency Reuters, the Dallas Police Department reported on social media platform X that police received a report of the shooting around 6:40 AM local time at the office located in northwest Dallas.
Preliminary investigations suggest the attacker fired at the office from a nearby building.
Police confirmed that two individuals were transported to the hospital after being shot, while one person died at the scene.
Tricia McLaughlin, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security, told Fox News' Fox and Friends program that ICE officers were unharmed in the incident, though it was unclear whether the victims were ICE detainees, local security personnel, or law enforcement officers.
McLaughlin further stated that investigators were considering the possibility that the shots were fired from the roof of a nearby residential building. She described the gunfire as possibly being from a sniper or a long-distance shooting. However, the details remain unclear.
She also clarified that the shooting occurred at the ICE field office, not at a detention center, which is where ICE officers carry out short-term operations on recently arrested individuals.
It is worth noting that just days earlier, conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot dead by a sniper during an event in Utah.
President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and other government officials had previously blamed liberal organizations for fueling unrest and encouraging violence against right-wing groups, despite lacking evidence.
On September 22, Donald Trump signed an executive order designating the anti-fascist movement Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, although no evidence has been presented linking Antifa to Charlie Kirk's death.
The Trump administration's aggressive stance against illegal immigrants and the conduct of ICE agents has sparked significant anger among Democrats and liberal activists.
Clashes frequently occur outside ICE detention centers, where heavily armed agents engage with protesters using rubber ball guns, tear gas, and other chemical agents.
