London: The UK has banned “buy one get one free” deals on food and drink.
The British government has banned buy one get one free deals on unhealthy food and drink to combat obesity, especially among children.
According to officials, the ban will apply to supermarkets, large stores, and online retailers. It will also apply to free refill promotions on some drinks in restaurants and cafes.
In this regard, the British Department of Health said that these restrictions are an important step in giving children a healthy, happy start in life because obesity deprives children of the best start in life and leaves them with lifelong health problems.
