Israeli Navy seizes 42 flotilla boats, arrests 450 people including Mushtaq Ahmed

The Israeli army raided the Global Sumud flotilla carrying aid to Gaza and arrested more than 450 people on board.

The flotilla was carrying about 500 people, including former senator Mushtaq Ahmed, Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg, and Nelson Mandela’s grandson, Nkosi Zweliweli.

Flotilla organizers said that 42 boats in their convoy were seized by the Israeli navy, while more than 450 people on board the boats were arrested. The Zionist army jammed the boats’ communication system and live video broadcasts.

Organizers said that the Israeli naval forces also seized the Global Sumud flotilla’s boat ‘Alqatala’ in the latest operation, and former senator Mushtaq Ahmed was also on board.

According to reports, the boats seized by Israel reached the port of Ashdod, from where the social activists on the boats will be deported to Europe.

According to the Global Sumud Flotilla, one of its convoys, the Marinette, is heading towards its destination. Arab journalist Hassan Masoud, who is part of the Sumud Flotilla, also claimed on social media that a boat, the Makino, had entered Gaza's territorial waters.

The Israeli Prime Minister's intransigence on the military raid on the Global Flotilla continues. Netanyahu commended the Israeli army for its action against the aid boats.

Protests against attack on Sumud Flotilla

On the other hand, protests against the attack on the Sumud Flotilla are still ongoing in Europe and around the world.

Pro-Palestinian protesters are taking to the streets in countries including the UK, Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Argentina, Colombia, and Yemen.

Traffic was blocked in several cities during the protests, while in some places, protesters also vandalized shops and restaurants.

It is pertinent to note that this flotilla left Spain on August 31, but convoys from more countries joined along the way.

The Israeli navy began seizing ships about 70 nautical miles from Palestinian territorial waters.
