Mohsin Naqvi sought report from the IG Islamabad on the incident

Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered an inquiry into the National Press Club incident.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that violence against the journalist community is unacceptable under any circumstances. Disciplinary action should be taken by identifying the officials involved in the incident.
The Interior Minister has sought a report from the IG Islamabad on the incident of violence against journalists at the National Press Club.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has said that the government’s stance on expression of opinion is very clear and the incident that took place at the Islamabad Press Club has nothing to do with anything else.
He said that the government has unconditionally apologized for the National Press Club Islamabad incident. The protesters entered the Press Club to avoid arrest, the police officers followed the protesters there without assessing the building. Talal Chaudhry stated that after the inquiry, the punishment and reward will be in front of you.
Talal Chaudhry further said that our soldiers were martyred in Azad Kashmir because of not using force. The Indian media is celebrating the situation in Azad Kashmir. An attempt was made to provoke by firing live bullets, despite that the Prime Minister sent a senior multi-party delegation there.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said that if the Prime Minister has to announce any package to resolve the problem in Azad Kashmir, he will do so.
It is pertinent to note that in Islamabad, the police tortured journalists covering the Azad Kashmir Public Action Committee demonstration outside the National Press Club and also entered the club and subjected the journalists to the worst torture there.
The police also subjected the journalists to the worst torture inside the club and broke their cameras. The police entered the cafeteria where they vandalized and tortured the journalists who were busy eating.
