(Web Desk): The spokesperson for the Foreign Office has stated that former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, who was aboard the Global Samoud Flotilla carrying aid for Gaza, remains in the custody of the Israeli military.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Office, it was said that Pakistan is in contact with international partners to ensure the safety and repatriation of Pakistani citizens aboard the Global Samoud Flotilla.
The spokesperson confirmed, via diplomatic sources from a friendly European country, that Mushtaq Ahmed is indeed in the custody of Israeli occupation forces. However, sources have also confirmed that he is safe and in good condition.
The Foreign Office further stated that, according to local legal procedures, former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed will be presented before a court. Once a deportation order is issued by the court, arrangements for his immediate return will be made.
According to the spokesperson, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also facilitated the return of those Pakistani individuals who had disembarked earlier. Pakistan has expressed gratitude to the brotherly countries that assisted in the repatriation of its citizens.
The spokesperson added that the Government of Pakistan is committed to the protection of all its citizens and hopes that the process of their return will be completed within the coming few days.
