Customs authorities require three months, and the FIA readiness report has been received

Islamabad: The Special Secretary for Interior stated in the Standing Committee meeting that Pakistan is fully ready to open the Badini border with Afghanistan—provided that the Balochistan government improves the road infrastructure.
A meeting of the Standing Committee on Commerce was held, during which the issue of opening the Pak-Afghan Badini border was discussed.
The Secretary of Commerce informed the committee that a letter regarding the opening of the Badini border has already been sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ministry of Interior has cleared the matter from its end. Now, the response from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is awaited. Customs authorities require three months, and the FIA readiness report has been received.
The Special Secretary for Interior noted that the road to the Badini border is 130 kilometers away, making it difficult to fully operationalize the border at this stage.
Committee Chairperson Anusha Rehman inquired whether the Afghan side is fully prepared.
In response, the Special Secretary for Interior said, “We are absolutely ready to open the Badini border. You may also request the Balochistan government to improve the road infrastructure. We will deploy FIA at the Badini border.”
