‘Afghans will not allow their territory to be surrendered to any foreign power’

(Web Desk): The spokesperson for the Afghan Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid, has stated that Afghans will not hand over their land to anyone under any circumstances.
In an online interview with British television channel Sky News, Zabihullah Mujahid said, “We will not hand over Bagram Airbase to the United States under any condition.” He emphasized that Afghans will not allow their territory to be surrendered to any foreign power.
Mujahid also revealed that discussions have taken place with the U.S. regarding the reopening of embassies in Kabul and Washington. He added that several countries, apart from Russia, have informally recognized the Taliban government, but not officially.
When asked about girls' education, Mujahid responded, “We cannot make any promises in this regard.”
It is worth noting that in 2021, during the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan, the United States handed over Bagram Airbase to Afghan authorities after 20 years of control.
However, former U.S. President Donald Trump has since declared that the weapons left behind and Bagram Airbase should be reclaimed, warning of severe consequences.
