Pahang: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was awarded an honorary PhD in Leadership and Governance by the International Islamic University during his visit to Malaysia.
The ceremony to confer an honorary PhD on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was held in the Malaysian state of Pahang, in which the Queen of Pahang, Tunku Aziza Amina Maimunah Alexandria, awarded him the honorary degree.
Addressing the ceremony, Queen of Pahang, Tunku Aziza Amina Maimunah Alexandria, said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif served the nation with insight, discipline, and compassion. He proved from the leadership of Punjab to the Prime Minister's Office that true leadership is not about power but about purpose.
She stated that the Punjab Education Endowment Fund has opened the doors of higher education for thousands of students, and it is an honor to confer an honorary doctorate on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in leadership and governance.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that it is an honor for him to receive a doctorate in leadership and governance from the International Islamic University Malaysia.
He stated that for more than four decades, he has served the people of Punjab province as a servant; now, he is serving the people as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. He always served the people with sincerity and determination.
He added that it is an honor to be associated with one of the most prestigious educational institutions in the Muslim world. The institution is advancing the goal of higher education by combining knowledge, faith, and ethics. I hope that the academic cooperation between Pakistan and the university will be further strengthened.
The Prime Minister further said that the International Islamic University Malaysia is a center of knowledge and wisdom. It is our responsibility to provide opportunities to our youth. Leadership is not a privilege but a trust. Leadership must be performed with honesty, sincerity, justice, and transparent accountability.
Shehbaz Sharif also stated that the Muslim Ummah is facing numerous challenges, including conflicts, poverty, and mutual anarchy. Pakistan and Malaysia are rich in young populations. It is our responsibility to provide opportunities to our youth to serve humanity.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also read a famous poem by the great poet and thinker Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
