Police say that accomplices of the suspects fled after the encounters


Lahore: Four suspects were killed in alleged encounters with the Crime Control Department (CCD) in different areas of Lahore, the capital of Punjab province.
According to CCD officials, suspects Abdul Shakoor and Babar were killed by their accomplices during an encounter in the Shad Bagh area of Lahore, while a suspect named Saeed was also killed by his accomplice in Harbanspura.
In the Township area of Lahore, suspect Nazir was killed in an alleged encounter, while all the other suspects were killed by their accomplices.
Police say that the accomplices of the suspects fled after the encounters, and a search is underway. The bodies of the slain suspects have been shifted to the hospital for postmortem, from where the bodies will be handed over to the heirs after legal proceedings.
It is pertinent to note that on September 30, five robbers involved in the murder of a woman during a robbery were killed in an alleged encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) in Tehsil Muridke of Sheikhupura.
Officials had said that robbers had set up a roadblock on Narowal Road and were robbing passersby. The accused opened fire on seeing the CCD personnel. However, as a result of the CCD’s retaliatory fire, 5 robbers were killed on the spot.
According to the CCD spokesperson, the deceased robbers had shot and killed Mehwish Begum, a resident of Lahore Cantt, during a robbery two days ago.
The two robbers killed in the alleged encounter have been identified and are said to belong to a nearby village. One accused is named Usman and the other is named Feroz. Both were residents of Gakhar, a nearby area of Narang Mandi.
