He was killed by the firing of his own associates during alleged encounter


Lahore: The main accused in the Amir Balaj murder case, Khawaja Tareef Gulshan alias Teefi Butt, was killed in an alleged encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) of Punjab Police.
According to media reports, Tareef Gulshan alias Teefi Butt was being transferred to Lahore after being brought to Pakistan from Dubai when he was attacked by the accused’s associates near Rahim Yar Khan.
It is also reported that the accused Teefi Butt was killed by the firing of his own associates during the alleged encounter.
It is pertinent to note that the accused Teefi Butt was arrested in Dubai through Interpol and was transferred to Pakistan from the United Arab Emirates yesterday.
Teefi Butt was presented in the Dubai court before being transferred to Pakistan. The judge of the Dubai court had questioned him about going to Pakistan, to which he agreed to go to Pakistan and face the cases.
According to the report, after the extradition by the Dubai court, the Punjab Police team reached Lahore with Teefi Butt.
Notably, Amir Balaj Tipu, son of well-known Lahore businessman Tipu Truckan Wale, was shot dead at a wedding ceremony on February 18, 2024.
According to Lahore Police, Amir Balaj Tipu was attending the wedding ceremony of the son of former DSP Akbar Iqbal Bal in a private housing society near Thokar Niaz Baig.
During the wedding ceremony, an attacker present there opened fire, injuring 3 people, including Amir Balaj Tipu, who were shifted to the hospital.
According to the police, Balaj succumbed to his injuries, while the attacker was also killed on the spot by the guards of the deceased.
Later, in August 2024, the main accused in the Amir Balaj Tipu murder case, Ahsan Shah, was killed in an alleged encounter. Ahsan Shah was a close friend of the deceased Amir Balaj Tipu, who was accused of having recruited Amir Balaj in collusion with Gogi Butt.
The DSP Organized Crime Unit had said that the accused Ahsan Shah was injured in the firing of his associates, who were shifted to the hospital but could not survive.
Police say that Ahsan Shah was being taken for identification when his brother attacked him along with unknown accomplices to free him. During the alleged encounter, Ahsan Shah was injured and succumbed to his injuries.
In September 2025, the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report revealed that Gogi Butt had planned to kill Amir Balaj Tipu.
According to reports, Khawaja Aqeel alias Gogi Butt was in contact with the main accused in the Amir Balaj murder case, Teefi Butt, who was also a named accused in all previous murder cases of the Tipu family.
According to reports, the JIT will request the release of Gogi Butt's bail at the next hearing.
After the murder of Amir Balaj, the accused Khawaja Aqeel alias Gogi Butt had fled. Later, the accused obtained bail and is on interim bail till September 15, while the accused Teefi Butt was still a declared accused, who was taken into custody from Dubai and transferred to Pakistan.
It should be noted that Amir Balaj Tipu's father Amir Muhammad Khan alias Tipu Truck Wale was killed in a murder attack at Lahore Airport on March 22, 2010. He had returned from Saudi Arabia after performing Umrah and was shot at in the airport parking lot.
