Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast rain and snowfall in the country’s western and northern regions from December 20 to 22.
The Met Office has issued an important weather outlook for the coming days, stating that rain and snowfall are likely in the western and upper parts of the country during the period.
According to the report, a westerly weather system will enter Balochistan on December 19, bringing rain accompanied by thunderstorms, while snowfall is expected in mountainous areas. Rain is also likely in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir on December 19 and 20, with the possibility of heavy snowfall at some locations.
Rain is expected on December 19 in several districts, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Peshawar, Charsadda, and Nowshera. Heavy rainfall has also been forecast for Islamabad and Rawalpindi. From the night of December 20 to December 21, heavy rain and snowfall over the hills are expected in Murree and the Galiyat region.
The report further states that Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Lahore may experience cloudy conditions with light drizzle on December 20 and 21.
