Tokyo: Ten people suffered injuries after a man attacked fellow passengers with a knife on a Tokyo commuter train late on Friday.


According to details, the 36-year old accused has been arrested by police who has confessed to the crime.
Reportedly, the accused told police that he became angry after seeing ‘happy women’ on train and wanted to kill them.
The man attacked passengers on a train near Seijogakuen station on Friday following which the train was brought to an emergency stop by the driver.
Out of all victims, one is said to be severely injured while others suffered less serious injuries.
Japan is said to be one of the safest countries in the world and violent crime is rare in city. Moreover, the Japan’s capital is presently under tight security due to ongoing Olympics.
In 2019, a man attacked a group of schoolchildren waiting for a bus in Kawasaki. Two people were killed while 18 others suffered serious injuries.
