More than 2000 people have been forced to evacuate from the island of Evia as wildfires continue to rip through Greece.


According to details, the country is experiencing strong winds driving the flames towards the villages.
A number of wildfires have hit Greece in last few days. One fire that erupted in the northern suburb of Athens is said to have subsided.
Greece is experiencing worst spell of heat wave in 30 years which average daily temperature rising to 45C (113F).
Scientists are attributing the heat waves and wildfires to human-induced changing climate.
On Evia, two fire fronts have destroyed thousands of hectares of land, along with several homes and shops. The military are patrolling the area amid concerns that the fire could re-start.
Turkey is also experiencing a series of wildfires, which have been termed as the worst in the country's history. As per Turkish media, eight people were killed and thousands were forces to evacuate as wildfires erupted in the country.
