Islamabad: Pakistan and Uzbekistan have established working groups for promotion of cooperation in priority sectors.
This came at the 10th session of Pakistan-Uzbekistan Inter governmental Commission held in Islamabad.
Later briefing the media, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar said they have also laid down a plan of action for future cooperation.
He said our goal is to reach the trade target of two billion dollars in three years.
The Special Assistant said the two sides held discussion on connectivity between Pakistan and Uzbekistan through Afghanistan. He said both the countries have made good progress in exchanging the business delegations in pharmaceutical, textiles and leather.
In his remarks on the occasion, the Uzbek Minister for Industries, Trade and Investment said his country is committed to working closely with Pakistan for promotion of cooperation and achieving the targets set for different sectors.
