Sydney: Australia has imposed sanctions on the banned organization, the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
According to foreign media reports, the Australian Foreign Minister stated that the BLA has been involved in terrorist attacks in Pakistan and that Australia’s commitment against terrorism and extremism remains unwavering.
According to Australian media, the government has also imposed financial sanctions on three individuals, including banned BLA leader Bashir Zeb. Authorities said that legal action would be taken against anyone involved in financial dealings with or providing support to members of the BLA.
The Australian government stated that individuals maintaining links or financial relations with the banned organization could face heavy fines and up to 10 years in prison.
Media reports further stated that the Australian government has made it clear that it remains committed to combating terrorism and extremism and will continue taking strict measures against such elements.
According to authorities, the primary objective of these sanctions is to prevent financial support for terrorist organizations, making it more difficult for them to secure funding, recruit members, and continue their activities.
The Australian government added that these measures are part of its global security and counterterrorism policy, under which cooperation with international partners will also continue.
