Bannu: In a successful joint operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district, the Pakistan Army, Police, and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) killed 16 terrorists, including two key militant commanders, while two police personnel embraced martyrdom.

According to security sources, the Pakistan Army, police, and other security agencies are continuing operations against militants with full intensity. In this regard, a joint operation was conducted in the Miryan area of Bannu after reports of terrorist presence.

During the operation, 16 militants, including two high-profile commanders, were killed. Sources identified the slain commanders as Zamri Noor, who was allegedly responsible for spreading fear in the area, and Afghan militant commander Abdullah Saeed.

Sources further stated that during the difficult operation, the Pakistan Army, Police, and CTD also destroyed several militant hideouts.

According to security officials, two police personnel were martyred in the line of duty during the operation. The funeral prayers of martyred constables Waheed Ullah Khan and Noor Ullah Khan were offered with full state honors at Police Lines Bannu.

Senior civil and military officials, local elders, and a large number of citizens attended the funeral prayers.

Security sources reiterated that security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue joint operations against terrorism, adding that actions against militants will persist until the last terrorist is eliminated.
