Kabul: Afghan Taliban on Friday gave the assurance to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) management on PIA's country manager hostage dispute, authorities said the issue would be resolved as soon as possible.


According to local media, the Afghan government assured the national flag carrier that current issues between the countries would be resolved amicably and they requested PIA to resume the flight operation for Kabul.
A spokesman for the airline, however, has said that the flight operation will remain suspended until further government orders.
Pakistan had yesterday (on Thursday, October 14), suspended the flight operation to Afghanistan following the hostage-taking incident.
Pakistan International Airline (PIA) country manager was taken hostage for two hours on Thursday by the Taliban.
According to sources, the country manager was released following the intervention of senior officials, including the defense attaché.
