At least 4 policemen martyred, 250 wounded in clash with banned TLP workers near Muridke
At least four policemen were martyred and 250 others wounded after thousands of workers of the banned Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) clashed with law-enforcement personnel near Sadhoke, Gujranwala district on Wednesday.

In a tweet, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said four police personnel were martyred due to firing by TLP workers, adding that 253 others had been injured in the violence. He further said that strict legal action will be taken against those involved in the violence.

Accoridng to Punjab police spokesman, there were reports of more police deaths in the violence, but that he could not immediately provide a number.
Local sources identified the martyred policeman as Kasur ASI Muhammad Akbar.
More than 30 policemen injured in the clashes were taken to the Muridke Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, while 35 injured personnel were shifted to the Sheikhupura District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, according to Medical Superintendent Dr Azhar Amin.
Buzdar for stern action
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar directed to take stern legal action against the lawbreakers and said that the rule of law will be ensured at all costs. Action should be taken under the law and justice to be done, CM added.
No one will be allowed to take law into their own hands, the best medical care should be provided to the injured policemen. The government will leave no stone unturned to maintain law and order in the province, he concluded.
