Veteran entertainer, dancer Fred Astaire dies aged 92
Tributes have begun to pour in from celebrities who knew and worked with Blair.
Renowned presenter, dancer and entertainer Lionel Blair passed away in the early hours of morning. He was 92.
Born in Canada in 1928, he moved to the UK as a young boy and began performing in air raid shelters in World War Two. He grew up in Stamford Hill, North London.
Blair was well known as a team captain of the game show ‘Give Us A Clue’. The veteran star had enjoyed a seven-decade career on British television, starring in the Real Marigold Hotel and Celebrity Big Brother.
Blair also hosted the iconic game show, Name that Tune.
On the West End, he played the child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium, also choreographing and appearing in TV shows featuring Ella Fitzgerald and Liza Minnelli, and a Royal Variety performance with Sammy Davis Jr.
He married wife Susan in March 1967 and the couple had three children and three grandchildren.
