In contrast to other COVID effected countries, Pakistan fared much better: PM
Inflated rates, with negligible variations, were reported from several parts of the country.
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday said that COVID lockdowns resulted in unprecedented rise in commodity prices internationally and adversely affected most countries in the world, despite that Pakistan fared relatively much better.
On his official twitter handle, the Premier shared a YouTube video link with caption, “While an unprecedented rise in commodity prices internationally has adversely affected most countries in the world as a result of Covid lockdowns, Pakistan mashaAllah has fared relatively much better”.

In the meantime, despite government's assurances of working to curb the prices of essential items, sugar price increases across Pakistan, becoming more expensive than petrol.
Amid the rising inflation in Pakistan, the sugar crisis has risen to an alarming level, with the commodity being sold at Rs160 per kg in the wholesale markets in several parts of country.
Inflated rates, with negligible variations, were reported from several parts of the country.
