Paris: Pakistan has expressed optimism regarding the upcoming Financial Action Task Force (FATF) plenary which would meet today in France capital Paris.

According to details, the four day meeting would review Pakistan’s progress and decide about its fate with respect to grey list.
Pakistan has sent its report to FATF for consideration according to which Pakistan has shown improvement in compliance on anti-money laundering and combating financing terror (AML/CFT) systems.
Pakistan’s evaluation at the plenary would be based on 27-point action plan.
"We hope that the FATF plenary would acknowledge and appreciate our actions. FATF is a technical body, and we expect it to take a decision based on the merits of our case,” said Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, Foreign Office spokesperson.
A final decision would be announced by FATF president on the conclusion of the four-day meeting on February 25.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan is under FATF grey list since June 2018.
