A heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot and launched a search operation in the area.


Ghotki: A policeman was shot dead by unknown persons while on a routine patrol in the suburb of Ghotki district of the Sindh province.
According to police, some unidentified armed men attacked a policeman immediately after he left the Obaro police station for routine patrol. The martyred was identified as Amanat.
As soon as the incident was reported, DP Rahim Yar Khan and a heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot and launched a search operation in the area.
Police officials said that the martyred policeman on a motorcycle was on their way to his duty point from CPEC Service Road on the Sindh-Punjab border when unidentified assailants opened fire on him.
The injured constable rushed to Sheikh Zayed Hospital Rahim Yar, however, he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
