Sindh CM terms opposition as ‘ignorant’
Murad Ali Shah says ignorant opposition does not submit amendments, hurls expletives
Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has again blasted the opposition parties in the province and again terms it as ‘ignorant’.
Talking to the journalist in Larkana, the chief minister said that he was “absolutely” correct when he said the opposition members were ‘ignorant’.
He said the government had asked the opposition to submit its amendments to the Local government bill that was passed by the Sindh Assembly for a second time on Saturday amid uproar. “The ignorant opposition does not submit amendments and hurls expletives,” he added.
“The PPP is the majority party and the opposition turned into furious on minority but the opposition had misconstrued his word ‘minority’ to mean a religious minority,” the chief minister mentioned.
A day earlier, while addressing the provincial assembly, the Sindh chief minister criticised the opposition for protesting against the bill.
Reacting to the opposition’s criticism, he said, “Are we occupying the Sindh Assembly?" He then alleged the opposition was indulging in linguistic politics.
In an apparent criticism of the MQM, the chief minister commented: "The one who created linguistic differences is sitting in London. You have disowned him but have not dissociated from his ideology."
