Consumers will get reduction relief for 3 months
Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved reduction in the electricity tariff.
According to details, NEPRA has approved to reduce electricity prices in the country by Rs0.99 per unit. NEPRA gave a go-ahead for lowering the electricity tariff in terms of fuel adjustment for the last three months of the ongoing year 2021.
A notification has also been issued in this regard. Following the decision, government will provide a relief of Rs22.48 billion to the consumers. According to the NEPRA, consumers will get reduction relief for 3 months
The reduction in electricity prices will be effective from December 1, 2021.
On Wednesday, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) conducted a hearing on the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) request to increase electricity tariff by Rs4.33 per unit.
