New Jersey: A massive fire broke out at a chemical plant in Passaic, New Jersey, filling the sky with flames and acrid smoke, local media reported.
The huge seven-alarm chemical fire in Passaic sent plumes of smoke through the air that sent locals fleeing indoors.
As per details, the plant manufactures gaming and hospitality furniture for casinos and bingo halls and is connected to a chlorine manufacturer.
The company is located near 225 Passaic Street, near Route 21 and the Passaic River.
Local authorities, however, instructed nearby residence to keep their windows closed. There is no word yet on any injuries.
As soon as the incident reported, a large number of firefighters from surrounding towns were called in to help battle the flames. Firefighters say the main building where the fire broke out has collapsed.
Video from social media showed the flames shooting even higher than the elevated highway, as cars drove past.

The highway has since been closed.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
