Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday emphasized the need to enhance Pakistan’s aerial connections with other countries.

Talking to a delegation of Air Asia Aviation Group in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said potential of Pakistan’s tourism sector can be fully exploited by increasing people-to-people contacts.

The President said Pakistan has abundant tourism opportunities, especially religious sites.

He said investors should invest in the Pakistan Stock Exchange by taking advantage of the best investment opportunities it offers.

The delegation apprised the president about the Air Asia Aviation Group and its flight operations.

Plea filed in SC for implementation on national action plan 2014

The initiatives should be taken to overcome the terrorism.

Islamabad: A plea has filed in Supreme court (SC) for the implementation on national action plan 2014. 

According to the details, the federal and provincial governments interior ministry and others have made parties in the plea. The plea was filed through advocate Hafiz Ahsan Khokhar by the martyr form Balochistan’s pattern in chief Nawab Zada Jamal Raisani. 

It is pleaded in the petition to issue orders of immediately implementing on police reforms. The orders should be given for the immediate decisions on all cases of terrorism which are pending in courts. 

It is said in the plea that in accordance with the international standard from federal and provincial governments the witnesses should be given security and the prosecution has to implement on that. 

However, in the plea it is also pleaded to provide security of the martyrs’ family and free education to their children. The initiatives should be taken to overcome the terrorism.

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz held a meeting with Iranian President Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi in Lahore on Tuesday (today).

The both sides reaffirmed commitment to enhancing cultural exchanges and fostering people-to-people contacts.

The Chief Minister explained the measures taken in the province for socio-economic development and expressed a desire for close engagement with Iranian cities and provinces for mutual benefit and prosperity.

President Raisi appreciated the rich cultural history of the city of Lahore and expressed admiration for the poet of the East, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, who is revered in Iran as “Iqbal-e-Lahori”.
