SCO Summit: Section 144 in Rawalpindi for eight days
All kinds of political gatherings, sit-ins, meetings, demonstrations, and protests have been banned in Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi: Section 144 was imposed in Rawalpindi for eight days from October 10 to 17 because of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit organized in Islamabad.
According to the Interior Department spokesperson, the purpose of implementing Section 144 is to secure the SCO summit. All kinds of political gatherings, sit-ins, meetings, demonstrations, protests and all such activities have been banned in Rawalpindi. Double riding and aerial firing will also be banned within the city limits.
According to the spokesperson, under Section 144, flying pigeons and drones and the use of laser lights will also be prohibited.
The decision to implement Section 144 was taken at the request of the district administration. Representatives of law enforcement agencies will be exempt from the restrictions, stated the spokesperson.
It is pertinent to note that the SCO summit will be held in Islamabad on October 15 and 16.

Rain forecast in areas of Karachi today
Temperature in Karachi may go up to 40 degrees Celsius
Karachi: Meteorological Department has predicted rain in different areas of the city on Friday.
According to Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz, there is a possibility of light rain and wind in the city but these rains will not affect the temperature in Karachi much.
The Chief Meteorologist said that even today the temperature in Karachi may go up to 40 degrees Celsius, however, it will start declining after October 20.
According to Sardar Sarfaraz, the night temperature in the northern regions has reached single digits.

Two masterminds of Dasu attack killed in escape attempt
Accomplices of the dead terrorists were safe because they were in different vans
Sahiwal: Two mastermind terrorists of Dasu Power Project attack were killed while trying to escape.
According to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), the terrorists were being transferred from Sahiwal Jail based on a threat alert. The attack took place during the transfer of five terrorists involving the mastermind of the attack.
The CTD officials further said that the terrorists tried to rescue the accomplices involved in the Dasu attack and the terrorists Muhammad Hussain and Ayaz were killed on the spot in the exchange of fire.
According to CTD spokesman, the firing incident took place near Sahiwal Sea Road, three accomplices of the dead terrorists were safe because they were in different vans.
It is pertinent to note that 13 people including nine Chinese were killed and more than 20 were injured in the Dasu attack. The court has sentenced the terrorists involved in the Dasu attack to death.
