Islamabad: Badar Shehbaz has appointed as media coordinator of prime minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to the details, the cabinet division also issued a notification for the appointment of Badar Shehbaz Warraich as the prime minister's media coordinator.

It should be noted that Badar Shehbaz was also Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) central assistant secretary and a member of media team for a long time.

Use of plastic bags banned across Punjab

It was decided in the meeting that the relevant authorities will ensure the ban on the use of plastic bags.

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Thursday approved the ban on the use of plastic bags in the province.

In a meeting chaired by Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, it was decided to ban the use of plastic bags across the province from June 5.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Earth Day will be celebrated on April 22. ‘No Plastic’ campaign will be launched and complete ban on production, delivery and use of plastic bags will be ensured.

The senior provincial minister stated: “People should not use plastic bags to protect themselves from cancer. They are requested to use clothes and paper bags instead of plastic bags, everyone including shopkeepers are with the government in the campaign of not using plastic bags”.

Marriyum added that the plastic items and utensils should not be used at home.

It was decided in the meeting that the relevant authorities will ensure the ban on the use of plastic bags.

Special lectures and training workshops will be held among students and in educational institutions in which people will be made aware of the harm caused by plastic on human health, improving the environment is a matter of life and death for all of us.

By-elections in KP to hold on April 21

The 892 polling stations have made collectively whereas the 139 polling stations have termed more sensitive.

Peshawar: The by-elections will be held on April 21 on the vacant seats of national and provincial assemblies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

According to the details, the arrangements have completed in this regard. The election commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued a notification regarding this matter in which the by-elections of national assembly’s constituencies NA-08 Bajaur, NA-44 Dera Ismail Khan while the provincial assemblies’ constituencies will be held in PK-22 Bajaur, PK-91 Kohat.

ECP stated that the polling will be continued without any interruption from 8:00 am till 5:00pm. The election campaign will be ended on the night before the by-election’s morning.

However, the competition will be among 49 candidates collectively. More than 14,71000 will be using their right of vote in by-elections.

The 892 polling stations have made collectively whereas the 139 polling stations have termed more sensitive.
