Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core committee has requested the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to assign the bat as their election symbol.

Expressing discontent over the delay in symbol allotment, the committee stated that the absence of the bat symbol could jeopardize the transparency of the upcoming elections.

Emphasizing the need for a level playing field, the core committee urged the ECP to ensure fairness for all political parties participating in the upcoming general elections.

Earlier, the Election Commission had issued a notice to the PTI regarding the party's internal restructuring and intra-party elections. The decision regarding PTI's intra-party elections, conducted on September 13, was reserved by the electoral body.

Barrister Gohar Ali Khan emerged as the unopposed chairman of PTI, succeeding imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan, following the intra-party polls mandated by the Election Commission of Pakistan. The elections, conducted through an online app, also saw former federal minister Omar Ayub Khan elected as the party's secretary-general, and incarcerated former provincial health minister Yasmin Rashid elected as PTI Punjab president.

Subsequently, the ECP issued a notice to PTI in response to an appeal by the party's founding member, Akbar S. Babar, challenging the intra-party elections of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

Islamabad: Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi said that the interim government is committed to fulfilling all necessary requirements outlined by the Election Commission for a smooth electoral process.

Talking to a private news channel on Monday night, he said there is no hindrance in holding elections as the caretaker government has provided the required funds to the Election Commission to ensure seamless election process

The Minister categorically said that there are no such circumstances to change the date of elections.

He said all political parties are fully allowed to carry out political activities in all four provinces.

Islamabad: Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Human Rights and Women Empowerment, Mushaal Hussein Mullick here on Monday said India has expressed its hatred for the Kashmiri nation through the decision of the Supreme Court.

In a video message, she said, no one has given justice to the Kashmiris. The Indian Supreme Court’s decision was against the Geneva Convention and UN resolutions, she added.

She said that Modi and Netanyahu have a competition over who will commit more massacres.

The scope of RSS and Indian terrorism has spread to the entire world. Massacre of Kashmiris and Sikhs continues from India to Kashmir, she said.
