Lahore: Government of Punjab has agreed to start School Meal Program with World Food Program (WFP) to control malnutrition among children.

Country Director of World Food Program has met with Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb in Lahore.

During the meeting, Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb told the country director of the World Food Program that the establishment of the Nutrition Force is one of the top priorities of the Punjab Chief Minister.

In this regard, he says that the country director of the World Food Program has agreed to start a program to eliminate malnutrition among children in Punjab.

Senior provincial minister Maryam Aurangzeb told the country director of the World Food Program that farmers are being equipped with modern agriculture machinery and IT.

She also discussed cooperation in bilateral issues related to population control, health, sanitation, education with the country director of the World Food Program.

On this occasion, Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said that Punjab is a food basket, but most mothers and children suffer from malnutrition, 78 percent of children are used to going to school without breakfast, however, with the mutual cooperation of donors and partners, this problem is being solved. Can be controlled.

She also discussed with the Country Director of the World Food Program on starting a school feeding program to control malnutrition among children.

Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb told them that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will launch the Solid Waste Management Program, in the first phase, work on solid waste management will be done in 16 major cities.

She told the country director of the World Food Program that the implementation of the action plan to eliminate environmental challenges and smog will start from next week.

On this occasion, the country director of the World Food Program assured support in research and development on malnutrition.

Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has been assured by the Country Director World Food Program of full support in aquaculture farming, carbon financing, support in mother child health, climate change, capacity building of farmers.

Court seeks response on plea against Maryam Nawaz

Lahore: The session court has sought response from police officials on plea to register case against chief minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz on wearing police uniform.

According to the details, additional session judge Muzaffar Nawaz Malik heard the plea. The plea was filed by the advocate Aftab Bajwa.

It is stated in the petition that Maryam Nawaz wore police official’s uniform. In accordance with the law no person can wear the uniform of state institutions.

The applicant said that a plea was given to police against Maryam Nawaz but no action was not taken against her. The court order to register case against Maryam Nawaz on wearing police uniform.

Later then the court approved for hearing the plea against to register case of Maryam Nawaz and sought response from officials till April 29.

According to media reports quoting party sources, protest demonstrations will be held by Tehreek-e-Insaf in different areas of the country including Lahore.

On the other hand, PTI spokesperson has alleged that the police is raiding the houses and offices of PTI assembly members and ticket holders in Lahore.

The spokesperson of Tehreek-e-Insaf said that the police operations have been going on since night to stop the protest rallies against rigging in the by-elections.

It may be noted that the PTI has called for nationwide protests today, alleging rigging in the April 21 by-elections and "mandate theft" in the general elections.
