Lahore: In the midst of an ongoing exodus from the party and amidst widespread speculations about his own potential arrest, former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan nominated Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the Vice-Chairman of PTI, to assume leadership responsibilities.

Imran Khan said that Shah Mahmood Qureshi would lead the party in case he was disqualified.  He expressed these words while talking to the journalists at his residence in Zaman Park in Lahore on Saturday.

Responding to a question, Imran Khan commended Murad Saeed, a dynamic young leader within the party, as the "future leader" of PTI.

While acknowledging the resignations from PTI, Imran Khan noted that some individuals were compelled to leave the party, while others had been "exposed" for their actions.

Addressing the concerns of conflicts with the establishment, the former prime minister clarified, "The army is mine,” affirming that there is no discord between him and the military.

Imran Khan expressed optimism about the future and hinted at forthcoming changes, promising a significant surprise in the days ahead.

Criticizing the current government, the PTI chairman asserted that it inflicted the substantial damage on the country's economy. He underscored the importance of elections as the sole viable solution to address the prevailing situation.

As the PTI grapples with resignations and uncertainties surrounding Imran Khan's potential arrest, the nomination of Shah Mahmood Qureshi as a potential leader marked a significant development within the party. The future trajectory of the PTI would be closely monitored as it navigates these challenges and works towards regaining stability and unity.
