Islamabad: Islamabad Advocate General Barrister Jahangir Khan Jadoon on Saturday resigned from his office, citing the personal reasons.

“I’m stepping down from my office due to personal reasons,” said Jahangir Jadoon while sending his resignation to President Arif Alvi.

The sources said that the president office received the resignation of Advocate General Islamabad Jahangir Jadoon.

Barrister Jadoon was appointed as Advocate General as the new Advocate General of Islamabad by President Dr Arif Alvi last year in May.

Jahangir Khan Jadoon, associated with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Lawyer Forum, previously served as Deputy Attorney General during the previous PML-N government. However, he resigned from his position a few months after assuming office to resume his legal practice.

Before his appointment as Advocate General, Jadoon actively defended journalists facing cases registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) during the PTI regime. He also served as a member of the Journalists Defense Committee of the Pakistan Bar Council.
