May 9 riots case: Police arrested another key suspect
The area police detained former Union Council 18 Chairman Sajjad Hyder.
Rawalpindi: The local police have detained another important suspect, which is a significant development in the continuing investigation into the violent riots that started on May 9.
The area police detained former Union Council 18 Chairman Sajjad Hyder.
Since his apparent involvement in the attack on the Army installations and Corps Commander's home, which increased unrest during the protests, Hyder has reportedly been hiding.
The attack has been officially registered under the Terrorism Act at the Newtown police station.
The total number of people detained in relation to the events on May 9 has now reached 78.
Earlier, May 9 riots riots were a series of violent incidents that took place on 9 May 2023, in Pakistan. Following the arrest of the party's head, Imran Khan, from the grounds of the Islamabad High Court, demonstrations held by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf supporters descended into violent riots.
