US Ambassador meets ECP Chief Sikandar Sultan Raja

Islamabad: Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja Thursday met American Ambassador Donald Bloom and discussed free and fair elections in Pakistan.

According to details, the spokesperson of US Embassy has assured the support of United States for holding free and fair elections in accordance with the constitution and law of Pakistan.

In the meeting, Donald Bloom said: “It is the people's job to choose the future leaders of Pakistan”.

He added that they are determined to deepen and widen their relations with Pakistan. The United States will continue to work closely with the elected representatives of the Pakistan.

Notably, after the dissolution of assemblies this month, Election Commission will have to conduct the elections in 90 days, however instead of the election schedule, the ECP has issued a schedule of new constituencies under the digital census, due to which there is possibility of elections to be delayed.
