Repatriation of Afghan citizens from Pakistan continues

Khyber: The return of Afghan citizens living in Pakistan on the Pak-Afghan Torkham border continues.

According to the details, during the last four days, around 54 families have returned to the country. After the decision of the federal government and the apex committee, the process of repatriation of Afghan refugees is going on.

Foreign nationals residing illegally in Pakistan have been given a deadline of October 31 to leave. The resident foreigners must leave Pakistan by October 31 otherwise law enforcement agencies will ensure arrest and deportation.

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi issued an ultimatum for illegal foreigners asking them to go back immediately, or else he announced a crackdown.

Talking to media representatives in Lahore, Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab said: “The preliminary data of foreigners residing in Punjab has been prepared”.

Mohsin Naqvi added that the foreigners residing illegally in Punjab should go back on their own, no illegal foreigners will be allowed to stay in Punjab. If the foreigners do not go back on their own, a massive crackdown will be done against them.

It is pertinent to note that in the meeting of the Apex Committee of National Action Plan, it has been decided to take strict action against the illegal aliens living in Pakistan and their trade and property.
