Accountability court granted the appeal to record Nawaz Sharif's statement and adjourned further hearing of the case till November 30.

Islamabad: The Accountability Court of Islamabad Monday accepted the appeal of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to record his defense statement in the Toshakhana vehicle reference.
According the details, Islamabad Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir heard the Toshakhana case against Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari and others.
During the hearing, the pleaders of Asif Ali Zardari, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Majeed, Anwar Majid and Yusuf Raza Gilani appeared in the court. The court ordered the attendance of the accused.
During the hearing, Nawaz Sharif's lawyer took the stand that there is a defense statement left. National Accountability Bureau (NAB) should be directed to record Nawaz Sharif's statement and supplementary reference will have to be filed and the reference was filed in the absence of Nawaz Sharif. We want NAB to record the stand of the former prime minister.
The NAB prosecutor replied that time should be given to read the petition, on which the court said: “What is the problem in it, Nawaz Sharif should be called to record his statement”.
NAB prosecutor also took the stand that the investigating officer has to record the statement and will do the same, to which the lawyer requested the questionnaire which they will answer.
The prosecutor further said: “We have no objection for a nearest date, the investigating officer should record the statement”.
Accountability court granted the appeal to record Nawaz Sharif's statement and adjourned further hearing of the case till November 30.
