It is pertinent to note that Maryam Nawaz has been nominated for the post of Chief Minister Punjab and as per the law, an elected member can hold only one seat.


Lahore: The nominated Chief Minister Punjab from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz has voluntarily giver up the seat of NA-119.
According to the details, Maryam Nawaz has resigned from National Assembly constituency NA-119 that she won the seat in the general elections 2024.
It is pertinent to note that Maryam Nawaz has been nominated for the post of Chief Minister Punjab and as per the law, an elected member can hold only one seat. Therefore, following the law, she has sent her resignation to the election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
On the other hand, the phase of power transfer has started in Punjab as the first session of Punjab Assembly after general elections is about to start today (Friday).
The meeting has been convened at 10:00am under the chairmanship of Speaker Sabtain Khan and the newly elected members will take oath in the meeting today. After which the new Speaker will be elected while the Chief Minister will be elected in the next phase.
