Lahore: The 53rd martyrdom day of Pilot Officer Nishan Haider Shaheed Rashid Minhas, who set an example by sacrificing his life for the motherland, is observed today (Tuesday).
On August 20, 1971, Rashid Minhas sacrificed his life for the country during a training flight when his instructor Matee-ur-Rahman suddenly boarded the plane and turned the aircraft towards the enemy country, India.
20-year-old Rashid Minhas, proving his bravery and patriotism, turned the plane towards the ground instead of the enemy and thus sacrificed his life for the sanctity of his country.
For this great sacrifice of Rashid Minhas, he was awarded Nishan-e-Haider, the highest military honor of Pakistan, and his sacrifice remains an example of enthusiasm in the heart of every Pakistani.
