Says Faiz’s trial will benefit the country and it will progress

Rawalpindi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday demanded an open trial of former DG ISI Lt Gen Faiz Hamid and media access to the trial.
Faiz Hamid, two retired brigadiers and a colonel are already in military custody in connection with their interferences in political matters after their retirements. They are being court-martialed.
Talking to a group of journalists informally at Adiala Jail, Khan said he said Faiz’s trial would benefit the country and it would progress.
Regarding Faiz’s arrest, the PTI stalwart said he was not afraid of the general’s arrest as his custody was an internal matter of the Pakistan Army.
He alleged that the entire episode involving Faiz Hamid had been created to retain him [Imran Khan] in prison, saying he was being dragged to the military court’s trial after getting Faiz’s confessionary statement as approver.
Reacting to Imran Khan’s statement, sources in the security forces said that the trial of Fai Hamid would be conducted in a transparent manner and Imran Khan didn't need to worry about it.
